Giuliano Cardella, born in Lumezzane (BS), lives and works in Catania. He graduated in applied art at the Castelmassa Art Institute (near Rovigo) and started his artistic activity after his studies. Giuliano has numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad to his credit, as well as official recognition at national level. Numerous works are present in public and private collections in Italy and abroad (Japan, United States, Brazil, China and numerous European countries); in particular, his works have been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art and the Saatchi Gallery in London. He collaborates with the ‘Spazionoto’ Galleries in Noto (SR), ‘Carta Bianca’ in Catania, ‘Galleria Vecchio’ in Randazzo (CT), ‘Takeaway Gallery’ in Rome and ‘The Fletcher Art Gallery’ in Nottingham (UK): his works are also exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Maccagno (VA) and in various exhibition spaces in Italy and abroad.
'Visiting his studio, which is also his home, means entering his rooms, and enjoying all his works on the walls or stacked in columns, looking at his marvellous multifaceted sculptures, entering his world in an intimate and intense way. It is precisely this experience that gave rise to the title of the exhibition ‘In my rooms’, which gallery owner Francesco Rovella and Giuliano Cardella imagine not only as an exploration of the studio rooms, but also as an entry into the secret rooms of the artist's mind, an incursion into his incredible world of superimpositions, colours, signs, scratches and words of an unknown alphabet.
